HENK PEETERS

Henk Peeters (1928-2013), a prominent figure in Dutch cultural life and the Zero movement, grew up in a communist environment. Influenced by his father's role in the CPN and Soviet propaganda, he became involved in political and artistic circles. His early work was figurative, but by the 1940s, he began exploring abstract art. In the 1960s, Peeters co-founded the Nul Group, part of the international ZERO movement, focusing on objectivity, using everyday materials to challenge traditional art. His work, emphasizing industrial materials and natural processes, sought to integrate art with life.
