ANDY WARHOL

Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was an American artist and key figure in the Pop Art movement. Born in Pittsburgh, he studied at Carnegie Institute of Technology before moving to New York in 1949 to work as a commercial illustrator. In the 1960s, he transitioned to fine art, gaining fame with his Campbell’s Soup Cans and celebrity portraits. Warhol also explored film, performance, and television. Surviving an assassination attempt in 1968, he later founded Interview magazine. He continued producing art until his death in 1987. His legacy endures through The Andy Warhol Museum and his foundation.
