TOM WESSELMANN
Tom Wesselmann (1931–2004) was a leading American Pop artist known for his bold nudes, still lifes, and landscapes that incorporated advertising imagery. Initially influenced by Abstract Expressionism, he developed a unique style merging classical art with contemporary culture. His Great American Nude series (1961–73) featured patriotic colors and sensual figures. He also explored large-scale sculptural paintings, cut-metal drawings, and assemblages. Throughout his career, Wesselmann pushed the boundaries of painting and sculpture, leaving a lasting impact on modern art.
